    Description

    The Senior Manager of Project Controls is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all project controls processes and systems in the Project Controls departments. Applies sound judgment and experience to effective leadership of the project controls function on a project toward the accomplishment of project-defined goals and objectives.

    This is a US remote-telework opportunity. US Citizenship is required to apply.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Analyzes and uses cost data to identify key project issues.
    • Reviews cost data and reporting with the company's accounting system, Costpoint, to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.
    • Oversees the Project Controls Department, including the Project Setup Manager and schedules review meetings.
    • Oversees the development of work breakdown structures and helps ensure that project coding is used effectively for all types of contracts: T&M, FFP, CPFF, CPAF, Units.
    • Assists the Senior Director, Project Controls in all Enterprise Project Accounting (EPA) Project Control activities and tasks.
    • Develops, analyzes and troubleshoots complex projects.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with the EPA senior staff and Business Operations staff.
    • Reviews and assesses data that comes from Costpoint and Cognos reports, including revenue recognition.
    • Prepares and maintains desktop procedures for the Project Controls department.
    • Reviews project setup requests and ensures compliance with company/project policies and procedures.
    • Provides oversight and leadership of the most difficult and complex project control activities.
    • Oversees and assists with the development of complex Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), including revenue and bill formula's and in support of best practices.
    • Ensures project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management, and schedule management are executed on time and in accordance with company standards and contractual requirements.
    • Assists with setup and maintenance of a ticketing system for Project Controls, to encompass a workflow for proper approval of the submissions at all required levels.
    • Serves as a technical expert for the Project Controls department by incorporating strong experience and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Regulation (FAR).
    • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

    Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.
    • Twelve (12) years of experience in the Government Contract Accounting area, using Deltek's Costpoint cost accounting system.
    • Five (5) years of experience with project setup, job costing, revenue recognition and billing, and supervision responsibilities.
    • Expert understanding of Costpoint's Project Module and overall Costpoint system. Specifically, should understand all aspects of Costpoint setup configuration, including dependencies between Costpoint screens (project setup module, project levels, accounts, orgs, project labor categories, employee info).
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications.
    • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
    • Communicate and present complex issues and solutions to program leadership.
    • Cognos Reporting and strong Excel skills
    • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
    • Position may require minimal travel.
    • US Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Deltek Time and Expense experience preferred.
