    The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) is seeking an individual to assist in the Keck School Office of Research Administration. Our office works with faculty and teams on developing large-scale and interdisciplinary research proposals and informing researchers about federally-funded research programs.

    This position is an entry-level position to a rewarding career in Research Administration. No prior research administration experience is needed We will provide the necessary training on Federal and non-Federal grant compliance and application of USC policies and procedures for submitting research grant applications. The successful candidate should enjoy working as a team and be comfortable with using excel spreadsheets.

    Job Accountabilities:

    • Reviews funding announcements and sponsor requirements
    • Reviews components of proposals submitted by School of Medicine research investigators
    • Assists with questions about grant proposal processes
    • Assists with research project budgets as needed
    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested as related to research administration support.

The Office of Research Administration contributes significantly to this mission by ensuring timely and successful grant and contract submissions, providing assistance in interpreting sponsor guidelines, constructing grant budgets, and completing application forms. We are a service-oriented office looking for an energetic professional to join our team

    The hourly rate range for this position is $34.84 – $40.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

    Minimum Experience:

    1 Year

    Minimum Field of Expertise:

    A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with broad knowledge of relevant research computer software, e.g.: Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook, SPSS, Visio, and SunGard. Experience in creating and analyzing statistical reports. Must be able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records and generate reports. Proven oral and written communication skills to interact with other employees.
