    This position can either be 1st or 2nd shift

    The Brake Press Set-up/Operate role is responsible for setting up and operating production equipment (primarily the Brake Press) in a safe and efficient manner to produce parts that meet or exceed customer requirements.

    Job Description:

    • Set up and operate Brake Press for a variety of unusual Brake Press operations
    • Work from fairly complicated drawings, layouts, sketches and templates to meet close tolerance and print specifications
    • Plan sequence of operations and select dies when not specified (as required)
    • Make machine adjustments
    • Use drawing software to locate dimensioning
    • Perform initial quality checks
    • Maintain the quality and production standards
    • Perform routine maintenance on the brake press (as required)
    • Fill out all required paperwork
    • Follow all company policies and procedures as applicable to position
    • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures
    • Understand and follow health, safety, security, quality and environmental practices as required for IATF, 19649/ISO 9001:2015

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 1 year related set up experience or equivalent
    • Forklift certification preferred
    • Knowledge of hand tools
    • Knowledge of gauges (micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, protractors and square) to check parts
    • Ability to set up machines
    • Basic math skills
    • Ability to read drawings
    • Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations acquired by on-the-job training
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers

    Physical Demands

    • Requires standing, intermittent sitting and walking
    • Regularly required to communicate and listen
    • Occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch
    • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
    • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls
    • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
