    Ground Software Engineer

    Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 / year

    Description

    As a Ground Software Engineer, you will work directly with the Turion team in the planning, development, and implementation of Turion Space ground systems. You will design the software systems that enable operators to carry out missions in the most reliable. Your experience, creativity, and ambition will directly impact the way Turion Space operates as it continues to grow in scale and complexity.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Own all aspects of the software engineering and product development
    • Actively interface with users to learn their problems and create efficient solutions
    • Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews
    • Create new applications that improve how Turion Space operates
    • Work closely with subsystem teams and external customers to continually improve software tools and data products
    • Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale ground software and mission control systems, including operator GUI's and automation tools
    Minimum Qualifications
    • BS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
    • 2-5 years of software development experience
    • Experience in full-stack development
    • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software from scratch
    • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
    • Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.
    Preferred Skills and Experience
    • Programming experience in Ruby, C#, Java, or similar object-oriented language
    • Experience designing and building microservices
    • Experience with Docker
    • Experience with AWS
    • Experience with Jira or other defect-tracking software
    • Experience building complex systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
