    As a Registered Nurse at North Okaloosa Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients.

    Position Purpose:

    • The Charge Nurse accepts the responsibility and accountability for the operations and staff for the entire unit during a designated shift and the evaluation and treatment of the populations.
    • Under the direction of the Director, supervises and coordinates the work activities of the professional and technical staff
    • Organizes and coordinates the activities of the department through the appropriate assignment of responsibilities, delegation of authority, and overall direction of workflow processes
    • Monitors and evaluates the activities of the department personnel; provides management coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training and retraining, as necessary, to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Initiates progressive disciplinary action as needed
    • Responsible for planning, directing, supervising, implementing and evaluating nursing care of patients.
    • Reports to Critical Care Unit Director
    • Ensures all assigned/delegated additional tasks are completed in a timely manner. Enforces unit and medical center policies.
    • Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Director)
    • Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to House Supervisor)

    Position Requirements:

    • Current/valid RN license
    • Associates degree in nursing
    • Prior Acute/Critical Care experience required
    • Prior supervisor/charge nurse experience preferred
    • BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to hire
