- Maintain inventory from approved vendors, always seeking ways to enhance service quality
- Prepare and cook food following nutritional guidelines and resident preferences
- Ensure appetizing food presentation and timely delivery
- Support residents' independence with eating by understanding their needs
- Address concerns promptly and prepare food for special events
- Encourage resident participation and provide a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Supervise associates, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
- Handle on-the-job injuries and maintain a safe environment for all
- High school education, certification as a Certified Dietary Manager
- Experience as a chef/cook and in supervision/management
- Knowledge of food-handling regulations, HACCP, OSHA, and Microsoft Office
- Effective communication and decision-making skills
