- Individualized Care: Assess the interests, preferences, and cognitive abilities of residents to customize activity plans and ensure participation and enjoyment for all residents, including those with special needs or cognitive impairments.
- Lead group activities and events, encouraging resident participation and fostering a sense of community and belonging among residents.
- One-on-One Engagement: Provide one-on-one interaction and engagement with residents who may require individualized attention or assistance with activities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities, as well as observations of resident engagement, behavior, and mood. Report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care plans and ensure the holistic well-being of residents.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities, providing supervision and assistance as needed
- Resource Management: Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment. Assist with the procurement of materials and resources needed for activities and events.
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with elderly individuals, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living setting, is preferred but not required.
- Compassion: Genuine compassion for the elderly and a desire to enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities and interactions.
- Creativity: Creative and innovative approach to activity planning, with the ability to develop engaging programs that cater to a diverse range of interests and abilities.
