Applications are now being accepted for the position of:

Staff Accountant

FUNCTION:
Monitors and processes Transmission Cost of Services (TCOS) in accordance with the Public Utility Commission (PUC) dockets. Assists in preparing, recording, and maintaining financial records in accordance with FERC, GASB, and GAAP standards and guidelines. Maintain all subledgers for TCOS, Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable, and fuel system transactions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor electric PUC filings for TCOS - bill and process monthly payments according to the annual TCOS matrix and subsequent interim filings.
Monitor bank activity to make entries and invoices daily.
Invoice for miscellaneous billings and maintain subledger - accidents, aid to construction, and underground service.
Assist in month-end close process - journal entries, accruals, and reports.
Assist in year-end close process - inventory audit, fixed assets, and accruals.
Assist in annual audit - provide PBC's to audit firm.
Prepare checks and/or cash for deposit and enter into General Ledger.
Check end of day reports and create corresponding entries for account accuracy and reconciliation.
Maintain and reconcile financial assistance programs and grants.
Enter monthly fuel usage, resolve any fuel card issues, and manage fuel inventory reconciliation and adjustments.
Assist Finance Manager in General Ledger account reconciliation.
Assist Finance Manager as needed with projects and deliverables.
Create and maintain projects and project accounting subledger.

Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

BBA in Accounting, similar field of study, or equivalent experience.
1 years' experience in municipal finance or accounting.
Proficient in Excel and Word - Knowledge of Tyler ERP Pro (aka Incode) software a plus.
Knowledge of General Ledger / Balance Sheet accounting.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.

Salary Range DOQ plus benefits. Fulltime Employment.
