This is a full-time rotating shift position

Job Description

General Summary

This role is designated for recent graduates or nurses with less than 1 year of experience. The nurse will utilize this period for familiarizing themselves with the institution and nursing practices. Successful completion of the probationary period within 12 months is expected (maximum 18 months with a specific action plan in place). The nursing process serves as the foundation for professional practice. Engage in activities to enhance personal practice and contribute to unit-level practice objectives. Work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Held accountable for patient, family, and team care, and overall work performance under the supervision of the nurse manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland, or eligibility under Compact state agreements through the MD Board of Nursing, is mandatory.
Current CPR certification is a prerequisite.
Demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills for appropriate patient care. Understand principles of growth and development across different age groups. Proficient in utilizing computer systems for managing patient data.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Proven ability to lead others, demonstrated through roles like charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource. Effective team player in multidisciplinary settings.
Proficient in managing patient data using computer systems.
Capable of delivering appropriate care according to patient demographics and specific needs. Proficiency in growth and development principles across various age groups.
Documented proficiency in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Patient Safety

Ensure patient safety in all job responsibilities and actively engage in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives.
Address observed safety risks promptly.
Report adverse events and near misses to relevant management.
Identify and communicate potential risks in processes and procedures to the appropriate authorities.
