    Job Description

    The housekeeper supervisor oversees the performance of housekeeping staff and ensures that the facility is clean and sanitized. Primary responsibilities include managing room assignments in an effective and efficient manner, monitoring and inspecting completed assignments, and training associates properly. This position ensures guest room cleanliness is met and exceeded. The fast pace job of a housekeeping supervisor requires organization skills and knowledge of housekeeping operations. One must be able to multitask and handle repetitive work on a day to day basis.

    1. Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards.
    2. Train housekeepers how to clean the guest and public areas.
    3. Inspect cleaned rooms and ensure room is clean per I CLEAN standards.
    4. Act as the team leader for a team of room attendants.
    5. Demonstrates leadership and sound judgment to staff.
    6. Communicates effectively with staff.
    7. Meets goals of production.
    8. Trains staff on policy and procedures.
    9. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
    10. Assists with daily work assignments.
    11. Trains and coaches employees in laundry, housekeeping and dry cleaning.
    12. Report needed repairs or unsafe condition of room to Engineering.
    13. Keep linen room locked; linen cart neat and organized to standards.
    14. Maintain security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day.
    15. Respond to housekeeping requests from guests or management in a timely, efficient manner.
    16. Report lost and found articles.
    17. All other duties as required.

    Education & Experience

    1. High School or equivalent preferred
    2. 3-5 years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred
    3. Have knowledge of hotel and housekeeping operations
    4. Supervisory experience preferred
    5. Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
    6. The ability to be multilingual preferred

    Work Environment

    This job operates on multiple floors of the hotel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. One will be subjected to wet floors, cleaning chemicals and loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area among the guest floors.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time non-exempt position with expectation to work necessary business hours to ensure business needs are met during the operation of the Housekeeping Department.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This role supervises the housekeeping line-level staff as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper and/or the Operations Managers. Other supervision may be extended to other housekeeping line-level staff as requested by the Executive Housekeeper and/or the Operations Managers.
