    Sales Account Coordinator-Swine

    Land O'Lakes/Purina Pig Sourcing Team coordinates the supply of weaned pigs and feeder pigs to member cooperatives, dealers, swine producers, and swine production companies. In this role you will be responsible for initiating and maintaining beneficial and productive business arrangements with weaned pig and feeder pig producers and buyers.

    This role is virtual (remote) and will be primarily focused on working with customers in the Upper Midwest (MN, IL, SD, NE, Iowa)

    Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Negotiating the terms and conditions of long-term contracts and spot market transactions.
    • Provide accounting coordination for billing and accounts payable.
    • Servicing the transactions by providing ongoing communication and farm visits.
    • Attracting prospective pig suppliers and buyers and negotiating arrangements that meet each party's respective business objectives.
    • Establish and maintain customer pig flows.
    • Communicate daily/weekly with producers and buyers to assure continuity of business.
    • Providing guidance and planning followed by excellent customer service.
    • Collaborating closely with team members and feed sales personnel to achieve shared successes.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, a closely related discipline or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge of the current swine industry, pig contracts, and agricultural markets.
    • Feed, Animal Health and/or Genetic Sales experience desired.

    Competencies and Other Skills:

    • Extensive working knowledge of swine production, swine management, and agricultural markets.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
    • Strong organization and time management skills.
    • High internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, negotiating skills, and leadership in a team environment.
    • Computer skills are required, specifically MS Office.
    • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

    Preferred Experience and Education (optional):

    • Hands on experience with swine production and pig contracts.
    • Experience demonstrating the capability to grow business through teamwork and influencing stakeholders.

    Percentage of Travel:

    • 5-20% overnight travel depending upon candidate location. in addition to daily travel in the assigned geography

    Base compensation range: 65K-100K
