    JOB TITLE: Cost Risk Manager

    SUMMARY: MSR-FSR is seeking a skilled Cost Risk Manager to oversee and manage financial risks associated with our engineering and construction projects in Lehi, Utah. The Cost Risk Manager will be integral in ensuring projects remain within budget while aligning with MSR-FSR's strategic objectives. This role requires proactive management of financial risks, cost forecasting, and budget management, with a strong emphasis on understanding market trends and local labor conditions to optimize resource allocation and project execution.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Develop and maintain a cost risk management framework tailored to the specific requirements of high-tech construction projects, adhering to industry standards and ISO 31000 principles.
    • Conduct detailed risk assessments that encompass potential cost overruns, supply chain logistics, labor costs, and contractual liabilities, with a particular focus on the dynamics of the local labor market and material supply chain.
    • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to proactively identify financial risks, emphasizing the impact of market fluctuations and local economic conditions on project costs.
    • Manage and refine cost control systems to ensure accurate tracking, forecasting, and reporting of project finances, incorporating insights from local market and labor analysis.
    • Prepare comprehensive risk analysis and financial reports for senior management, illustrating potential impacts on project budgets and timelines, with an analysis of local and global market trends that could affect project delivery.
    • Develop and implement contingency strategies to address financial uncertainties, ensuring projects adhere to budgetary constraints and timelines.
    • Provide strategic financial advice to optimize cost efficiencies and project outcomes, considering the local labor market and material availability.
    • Promote a culture of financial risk awareness and proactive management across project teams.
    • Stay informed of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes, both locally and nationally, that could impact project costs or logistics.
    • Continuously enhance cost risk management practices based on evolving market conditions, project feedback, and industry developments.
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must have general understanding of construction sequencing using the latest construction industry standards.
    • Must be familiar with utilities infrastructure in an industrial environment.
    • Must be able to work in an ambiguous environment.
    • Must be in the field during the time trades are working, to enable immediate issue resolution in the field, escalate issues to superiors as appropriate.
    • Must have previous semiconductor, high-tech, or industrial construction experience.
    • A BS in Construction Management is preferred or 5+ years direct semiconductor trades and construction experience.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, PMP) preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost management or risk management within the construction or engineering sectors, with a preference for experience in high-tech environments.
    • Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry and the specific challenges of construction projects in this sector.
    • Proficiency in advanced financial modeling tools and project management software.
    • Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks pertinent to construction in Utah.
