    DESCRIPTION OF WORK


    As a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1, you will be responsible for BSU assessment and coordination with various other services as part of the Base Service Unit Team.

    This is an opportunity to provide assessment and linkage to services regarding the behavioral health and psychosocial needs of clients.

    You will facilitate referrals to providers, community resources, and other organizations, in addition to determining or explaining a client's eligibility for county funding.

    Organization is key, as you must maintain detailed notes of all service contacts in order to compile and prepare reports.

    This position also monitors service contract agreements, and develops and coordinates training courses.


    We are looking for someone who possesses an extensive knowledge of recovery and resiliency theories and principles, and has excellent interpersonal skills.


    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment
    • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Westmoreland County offers excellent benefits including health/vision insurance, 10 vacation days after 1 year of service, 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and 13 paid holidays.
    • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of a 6 month probationary period. All staff must report to the office every Monday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
