- Ensures purchase orders protect agency's interests and uphold policies and procedures.
- Develops understanding of internal customer's budgeting needs and procedures; provides pricing estimates for line items.
- Reviews requisitions for funding availability and account code accuracy.
- Reviews and assesses scopes of work and specifications; prepares Requests for Quotes and Invitation for Bids; evaluates bids and quotations; participates in evaluation committee meetings and may conduct vendor interviews.
- Offers input in developing specifications and scopes of work; determines appropriate procurement methods and develops individual procurement schedules.
- Negotiates and issues basic contracts and purchase orders; prepares basic contract amendments, revisions, and close-outs.
- Confers with customers to get information, resolve questions.
- Analyzes purchasing history of inventory parts, goods, and services.
- Determines or recommends awards of bids.
- Expedites purchase orders deliveries.
- Work may be performed in a stressful, fast-paced office environment, depending upon assignment.

Overview:
Under general supervision as a team member supporting simple procurement projects, responsible for straightforward contracts, product specifications, and bids for basic goods and services.
This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade M: Min $ Mid $38.19- Max $44.31 hourly. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration with a minimum of three years of professional governmental purchasing experience.
