Title:
Director of Environmental Services

Position Shift:
Full-Time

Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operations of the Environmental Services Department which also includes linen services and pest control.

Primarily responsible for training and instructing all personnel in proper methods and procedures of cleaning and use and care of their equipment.

Evaluates cleaning effectiveness of the EVS team in all service areas to include off site properties. Monitors employee performance and conducts employee appraisals. Actively participates in quality improvement efforts by completing quality reports rounding initiatives, patient surveys and physician offices surveys. Monitors floor care program making recommendations for service delivery.

Serves on various hospital committees and task force groups including Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Environment of Care and Patient Experience Council.

Credentials / Education:

The qualifications for the Director of Environmental Services are a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities management or Hospitality management, along with several years of experience in the environmental services field preferably in a healthcare institution.

General knowledge of OSHA standards and infection control practices are recommended.
