    Description

    Essential Job Functions

    This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

    • Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner, provide silverware and appropriate menus, and advise of any daily specials
    • Seat guests in appropriate sections and fairly to all servers
    • Answer the telephone after no more than three rings, including to go orders
    • Responsible for retail stock
    • Handle closing of guest transactions in restaurant and room services, close out register, and balance out cash for shift
    • Set up host stand with menus, blank checks, cash trays, register tape, change, etc.; check tables to ensure proper set up for each shift
    • Check guest tables to ensure guest service and food quality are satisfactory and up to Driftwood and hotel standards
    • Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints
    • Use proper etiquette guidelines for seating guests
    • Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures
    • Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested
    • Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures
    • Ability to accurately use various office software
    • Attend required meetings
    • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
    • Ability to accurately report information
    • Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures
    • Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care
    • Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
    • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
    • Conducts him\herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
    • Understands and communicates the Driftwood and Margaritaville missions and values
    • Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally
    • Actively listens to others
    • Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis
    • Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers
    • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
    • Must have a knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
    • Must have excellent mathematical and computer skills
    • High school education preferred. Relevant training and experience required
    • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates
    • CPR training and first aid training preferred
    • Additional language ability preferred

    Physical Demands

    • Minimum lifting of 20 pounds
    • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
    • Hearing, writing, typing
    • Minimum pulling of 20 pounds

    Job Type

    Full Time

    PAY

    $12.30/hr

    Start Date
