    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    The role involves utilizing Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) to create technical drawings for bridges and structures, showcasing a diverse range of skills and expertise in this field.

    The responsibilities include performing drafting and detailing tasks to develop moderately complex bridge and structural plans based on preliminary sketches, existing highway plans, bridge plans, and survey data. This encompasses various structures like reinforced concrete box culverts, simple span bridges, metal plate culverts, multi-span bridges, and bridge rehabilitation projects of varying complexity.

    The job also entails carrying out a broad spectrum of drafting and minor design projects related to bridges and structures under the guidance of experienced professionals such as bridge and structural designers, civil engineers, or draftsmen. The work involves using CADD tools or traditional methods to complete tasks, including verifying mathematical calculations, establishing alignments, and determining drainage parameters through mathematical formulas.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:
    • Full-time employment
    • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. (based on operational considerations).
    • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on Monday and Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
    • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    • One year as an Engineering Technician. or
    • Two years of experience in a variety of drafting assignments, one of which shall have been in bridge and structural drafting, including six months CADD experience or training, and graduation from high school. or
    • One year of experience in bridge and structural drafting and detailing assignments including six months of CADD experience or training and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology. or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
