    About the Job: Project Engineer III - Substation/Relaying/Generation

     

    Description

    OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: The Project Engineer III oversees and mentors a team of engineers and CAD designers, focusing on General/Physical Layout and Protection & Control aspects of substation design projects. This includes serving as the primary sealing engineer for most work and managing customer relations while contributing to business development with select clients.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Guide and coordinate junior engineers', designers', and CAD operators' work on assigned projects.
    • Act as primary customer contact, ensuring satisfaction and handling future business and project planning.
    • Demonstrate expertise in substation engineering disciplines, including physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
    • Lead project design activities, such as performing calculations, utilizing design software, and referencing engineering standards.
    • Prepare complex project documents, including specifications and bid documents.
    • Conduct detailed drawing reviews to ensure accurate, clear plans represent design intent.
    • Supervise and assist training of divisional Project Engineers I and II.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Maintain effective communication with employees at all levels.
    • Perform other duties related to this role.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
    • Five to ten years of relevant experience required.
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification is mandatory.
