    Key Responsibilities

    The Production Cook will be successful when:

    When all prepped food products are being accounted for and placed on the right events. This individual will be the last person to approve of the food product leaving the Innovation Center to be served to our guests. This person will be the initial contact with off-site managers if a product is missing or incorrect. This individual will be responsible for the organization and completion of events leaving the premises. This individual will be a strong advocate for food safety guidelines and follow all health codes.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    DAILY OPERATIONS
    • Prepare menu items for catered events at the Continental Commissary and headquarters
    • Verify any items produced in excess and check with Chef Manager/Sous Chef
    • Label items with product name, party number, date made and date out
    • Foster open lines of communication with Executive Chef/Sous Chef for any production issues noticed or expected
    • Follow safety procedures to endure an accident-free workplace
    • Use standardized recipes to provide consistent production
    • Responsible for proper handling, storage and use of food
    • Ensure quality standards are met and timelines followed
    • Contribute to the kitchen being closed properly daily by following sanitation and cleaning standards
    • Maintain awareness of new food trends, delivery methods for catering, new ingredients and new trends in plate presentations
    • Equipment for cleaning and maintenance
    • Be aware of cooler temperatures and can inform all appropriate parties when needed
    • Other duties as required
    • Actively engage in the training and development
    Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
    • 6 months of work experience in the industry preferred but not required
    • Large kitchen, banquet or off premise catering preferred but not required
    • Serve Safe/Allergen Certified or willingness to obtain certification required
    • Must be able and willing to work seasonal event driven schedule including nights, weekend and summer holidays
    • Proficient or willingness to learn. Food production as well as scheduling systems provided through internet-based software and e-mail.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • A positive attitude and a willingness to work with all facets and levels of management is required.
