- Follow Company and Project Management procedures.
- Review daily reports and ensures cost codes and quantities are correct.
- Quantity take-offs for purchasing and payment requisitions, coordinated with Field Supervisor
- Gather and enter quantities for cost reports
- Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that all materials and subcontractors are committed, approved, and available by the time they are required.
- Prepare working drawings.
- Assemble, prepare, coordinate, submit, follow-up, record submittal information.
- Maintain approved shop drawings up-to-date for field use.
- Prepare and update production reports and schedules.
- Maintain as-built drawings (if required).
- Maintain contract drawings and specifications up-to-date for office and field use.
- Maintain Purchase Order log, N&R log and Change Order logs.
- Prepare original budget from estimate and maintain budget revisions.
- Assure that pre-construction and progress photographs are taken and maintain prints and negatives.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier contact list.
- Draft work item list and item descriptions.
- Copy, file and distribute to accounting all receiving tickets and invoices.
- Obtain required permits and update Miss Utility permits.
- Collects and organizes information concerning field problems, questions, coordination.
- Must have 1 - 3 years of project field engineering work experience.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related degree. Equivalent field engineering work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Job Costing Experience.
- Ability to assist Project Manager in all aspects of managing 1 large or several small projects at any one time.
- Basic knowledge of contract law.
- Experience with construction software to include HeavyBid, Prolog, and Primavera P6 preferred.
- Basic skills in negotiating change orders and subcontracts.

The Project Field Engineer has task responsibility (accuracy, timeliness, follow-up) for each of these assignments.
