    Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and four years of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working in a college or university setting is preferred. A master's degree is preferred.

    Job Description Summary

    The University of South Alabama's department of Student Center Administration is seeking to hire an Associate Director, Fraternity and Sorority Life. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

    Essential Functions

    These are the job duties required of the position.

    Essential Functions

    • Leads programs and services that enhance student development for all members of the Fraternity and Sorority community.
    • Ensures that student needs are met in a fair and equitable manner for the College Panhellenic (CPC), Interfraternity (IFC), and National Pan-Hellenic (NPHC) Councils to promote retention and enhance leadership development within the entire Fraternity and Sorority community.
    • Serves as the primary advisor to the CPC, IFC, and NPHC Councils, council officers, and chapter presidents.
    • Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the performance of Fraternity and Sorority Life professional and student staff.
    • Supports and oversees membership recruitment efforts for the CPC, IFC, and NPHC Councils.
    • Negotiates, reviews, and executes contracts for Fraternity and Sorority Life, to include working with the Budget Office, Risk Management, and General Counsel.
    • Manages the annual budget for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
    • Sponsors educational programs for community members in areas such as academic success, Greek Convocation, substance misuse, mental health, intercultural relations, well-being, campus policies, risk management, and other critical areas related to Fraternity and Sorority Life.
    • Performs administrative tasks such as the management of the CPC, IFC, and NPHC budgets, reconciles accounts, maintains current membership rosters and records, facilitates academic grade reporting, and develops and executes a marketing and promotion plan.
    • Assists in the management of the Greek Housing Parlor Fee process.
    • Accompanies students to regional and national conferences as needed and appropriate.
    • Maintains an effective working relationship with advisors and officers of CPC, IFC, and NPHC organizations at the local and national levels.
    • Oversees the Fraternity and Sorority awards process, including the execution of an end of year banquet.
    • Manages all digital media efforts for Fraternity and Sorority Life. This includes all EMS, InvolveSouth, social media, and website content.
    • Monitors and prepares the timely processing of daily deposits, direct payment, bills, and invoices for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
    • Responsible for maintaining the assessment plan and suggesting policy updates for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
    • Monitors risk management exposure associated with Fraternity and Sorority Life programming.
    • Participates in department and division professional development activities.
    • Maintains active participation in professional associations such as AFA, NASPA, and SACSA.
    • Serves as an event planning resource for campus. This includes having a full understanding of university policies and procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with university policies and local, state, and federal laws.
    • Collaborates with colleagues in the division and across campus to provide a comprehensive student life experience while maintaining a commitment to learning and personal development.
    • Develops collaborative relationships with faculty and staff for the purposes of increasing student involvement, building community, and creating co-curricular student development opportunities.
    • Performs all functions and responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority, as defined by the Clery Act.
    • Serves on division and university committees as assigned.
    • Regular and prompt attendance.
    • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
    • Related duties as required.
