- Leverage industry experience and product knowledge to provide appropriate recommendations, with the goal of delivering maximum value to customers.
- Anticipate market trends and present new products to customers in a progressive and effective manner.
- Perform market and customer research to keep abreast of developments within the gourmet food product space.
- Maintain focus on financial measures including achieving revenue targets and gross margin objectives.
- Work with operations and other internal departments to deliver top service to customers.
- Assist customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information for appropriate alternatives.
- Exhibit independent desire to develop and maintain ongoing product and industry knowledge.
- Maintain positive working relationships with multiple vendors spanning wide-ranging geographical area.
- Communicate with employees to identify and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve customer service and operations.
- Effectively manage time and organize workflow to meet deadlines.
- Work with Senior Sales to identify sale trends and prospects - adjust if needed.
- Exhibit ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Culinary, associate or bachelor's degree in a food related area or equivalent.
- Experience: Two to three years of accounts management experience, preferably working with seafood and gourmet food products.
- Work ethic: A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
- Technical: Exhibit competence working with Microsoft Office suite.
- A combination of the above will also be considered.
