    CalWest's client school in the Greater San Francisco Area is seeking an Elementary Lead Teacher to begin August 2024.


    CalWest Required Qualifications
    A Bachelor's Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
    Requisite skills commensurate with the position
    A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
    Authorization to live and work in the United States
    Client School Preferred Qualifications
    Have a minimum of three to five years of exemplary lead classroom teaching experience and a valid California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential.
    Be well-versed in progressive educational theory and practices and be culturally competent to build and maintain an inclusive community.
    Have a proven track record of working successfully in a diverse environment that upholds high values in social justice education and practices.
    Possess a working understanding of developmental/constructivist teaching practices and social-emotional learning.
    Have a nurturing and supportive tone & rapport with elementary students that upholds clear expectations and establishes routines and organizational systems to build self-sufficiency
    Responsibilities
    All aspects of a rich and multi-disciplinary academic curriculum, including social-emotional learning, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
    Conducting ongoing formative student assessment and observation to guide and plan for differentiated instruction to facilitate all students reaching their full potential and being appropriately supported & challenged.
    Collaborating consistently with the grade level partner teacher and assistant teacher to ensure as much program cohesiveness and continuity as possible.
    Communicating proactively and routinely to parents/guardians in a supportive manner: posting weekly curriculum updates, conferencing with families twice yearly as well as when additional needs arise, and through comprehensive written progress reports each semester.
    Teaming with administrators, learning specialists, and specialist teachers to support students throughout the day.
    Managing classroom budget for supplies, equipment, and books to stay within the allotted budget.
    Ensuring the safety of each student by actively supervising and engaging with students during daily recesses and scheduled lunch duties.
    Supporting the professional growth of the assistant teachers with clear expectations, opportunities for teaching both large and small groups, and providing constructive feedback.
    Salary Range
    $ 65,000 – $ 85,000
