    Description

    Our client is seeking a Product Manager to be responsible for the life cycle of a new segment of their product portfolio. The Product Manager will understand the competitive space and associated customer needs and generate cohesive product strategies and roadmaps to grow the business. They will work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to create feasible business plans and ensure that differentiated products are brought to market. This includes management of the product development stages, gathering customer requirements, and working with sales and marketing to launch new products. Local candidates only will be considered at this time.

    Responsibilities will include:


    • Product Segmentation Management and Strategic planning through daily maintenance


    • Conduct market research to understand customer requirements and trends in the North American market


    • Understand competition through marketing analysis of competitive products (including features, pricing, and position)


    • Monitor and model key financial aspects and competitive positions of the portfolio and recommend product and pricing actions to grow revenue and profitability of the portfolio


    • Marketing liaison to the New Product Development (NPD) team


    • Product Marketing Specification creation in coordination with engineering, sales, and operations


    • Product literature technical content review (Specifications, submittals, manuals, etc.)


    • Product Information Management (PIM), per assigned product line


    • Remain up to date on regulatory activities and safety requirements, at the national, state, and local levels


    • Assist in product launch planning and deployment


    • Assist in training support for new product release

    Background profile:


    • B.S. in product management, business, or an engineering discipline. MBA preferred.


    • Minimum 5 years of product management of commercial or consumer products.


    • Ideal experience includes handling products with thermodynamic considerations: fluid handling, heating/cooling, compression/pumping or HVAC-related technology.


    • Knowledge of commercial electric regulations/standards


    • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal


    • Excellent teamwork skills


    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve objectives


    • Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects, and meet deadlines


    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint


    • Occasional travel required both domestic and international (up to 25% annually)
