    Senior Electrical Design Engineer

    Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer
    Location: Odessa, FL
    Salary: $95-105K, based on experiene
    Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
    Employment Type: Direct Hire

    Minimum Requirements
    • B.S. in Electrical or Automation Engineering, or similar BS degree.
    • Minimum five years of experience in industrial controls and electrical design, preferably in the bulk material handling industry or similar sector.
    • Hold a UL MTR certification or willing to take the exam.
    • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC) governing electrical design and safety. In depth understanding of NFPA and UL electrical codes.
    • Design experience with Motor Control Center (MCC)
    • This is not a programming position but experience with the programming of industrial controls is a plus.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, while also demonstrating leadership qualities and initiative in driving projects forward.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    Job Description
    • The position may require projects, engineering studies, technical research, and technical exchange-related travel, national and international. The estimated amount is approx. 10%.
    • Lead the electrical design process from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients, to define project requirements, establish design parameters, and develop solutions that meet performance objectives.
    • Maintenance of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID s).
    • Select appropriate electrical components, such as motor starters, drives, controllers, and sensors, considering factors such as Short Circuit Current Ratings (SCCR), performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Specification of instrumentation for use in classified zones (FM, ATEX, etc.)
    • Design Industrial control panels to UL508A & UL698A standards.
    • Generate detailed Electrical Drawing Package using AUTOCAD, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and adhering to design best practices while taking client s specifications into consideration.
    • Drawings include but not limited to the following: Instrument Specifications, Instrument Data Sheets, Instrument Hook Up Diagrams, Enclosure design and layout drawings, Schematic Diagrams, Enclosure Bill of Material, etc.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
    • Support the procurement process by collaborating with vendors, evaluating proposals, and reviewing technical specifications to ensure the quality and compatibility of electrical components.
    • Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and site visits as needed to communicate progress, address concerns, and facilitate seamless integration of electrical systems into overall equipment designs.
