We are seeking a qualified Purchasing Agents who will be responsible for managing procurement activities which include purchasing raw materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and services. This position will be responsible for negotiating pricing with suppliers to secure terms, including pricing, delivery schedules and quality specifications that align with budget goals, company's goals and strategy.

Purchasing Agent I - Hourly $24 per hour

Purchasing Agent II – $62k - $70k salary

Senior Buyer - $78k – 86K$ salary

Purchasing Agent Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of a purchasing agent include:

• Qualifying new suppliers, negotiating pricing and develop contracts with suppliers while building a strong relationship with the supplier.
• Analyze market trends, pricing, and quality of products to ensure the best value for the organization.
• Prepares purchase orders, confirms orders and expedites with accuracy.
• Support project management and engineering by preparing price estimates.
• Participate in various cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency, profitability, quality, and/or customer service of the organization.
• Ensuring that the procedures regarding the administration are followed and executed professionally and accurately.
• Support and guid Project Managers, Engineering, and any other administration of purchasing procedures.
• Works with accounting and suppliers regarding any discrepancies.
• Maintains inventory levels and updates item parameters for system accuracy.
• Assist and work with other senior members of the department in analyzing potential problems that could impact the company.

Purchasing Agent Skills and Specifications:

The following are skills and specifications for a purchasing agent:

• Must have experience reviewing drawings.
• Experience using MRP systems and basic MS office programs.
• Must be able to analyze data, problem solve, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines within multiple projects.
• Must have clear concept of mathematics.
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills and public relations.
• Preferred supplier sourcing and contract negotiation skills.
• Preferred inventory management experience.

Purchasing Agent Educational Qualifications:

The minimum educational requirement needed for the candidature of a purchasing agent includes:

• High school diploma.
• 2 years of experience in the purchasing field.
