    Description
    The Youth/Young Adult Director at First Presbyterian Church is responsible for leading and

    developing a team of volunteers who reach, teach and care for students in 6th-12th grades, and college aged students. Salary will be commensurate based on experience.

    Requirements


    Qualifications:

    • A deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
    • Assist during worship and be involved in the life of the Church
    • Ordained or looking to be ordained in the PCA (not required, but definitely a plus)
    • Strong understanding of the Scriptures and an engaging teacher
    • Understanding of current trends in American youth/college culture
    • Excellent personal skills and emotional intelligence
    • Eagerness to learn with a teachable spirit
    • Demonstrated commitment to personal emotional health
    • Team player who works effectively under own initiative
    • Administrative, budgetary, and organizational skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Cultivate relationships with MS/HS/Young Adults for the purpose of leading them into
    a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ


    • Cultivate relationships with parents and equip them to carry out discipleship in the home
    • Ensure the vision and structure of Youth Ministry follows the church's Vision and Mission
    • Promote the integration of students into the general life and ministry of the church
    • Promote intergenerational relationships
    • Lead, organize, and develop the weekly ministry to middle and high school students
    • Recruit, lead, and develop Youth/Young adult ministry volunteers
    • Lead and organize events, retreats, small groups, and other various ministry related events
    • Coordinate with Children's Ministry Director and Senior Pastor
    • Continue education (if desired) to become a pastor
    • Participate in staff life by attending meetings and staff events as required
    • Support and serve at church-wide initiatives and other events as required

    Pastoral Responsibilities (if applicable):

    • Participate in the preaching rotation and the administration of the Sacraments
    • Perform shepherding visits, weddings, and funerals as needed
