    This position will provide human resources services of for the Office of the Director, Missouri Capitol Police, the Division of Fire Safety and the State Emergency Management Agency.

    Responsibilities - What you'll do


    Job Description:
    Lead and supervise a team of HR professionals while collaborating with divisional HR teams
    Advises and counsels supervisors, managers and divisional and departmental leadership regarding disciplinary measures, policy, employee relation matters, compensation, organizational structure and other complex human resources issues
    Provide guidance and direction on behalf of DPS-HR as the state transitions from SAMII to Missouri Vital Enterprise Resource System (MOVERS)
    Assure department compliance with federal and state laws
    Oversight/facilitation of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills training to improve team member performance especially in areas such as supervision, FMLA, ADA, Civil Rights
    Conduct salary and overtime classification reviews and provide direction related to compensatory practices
    Develop and implement special initiatives, both at the department and statewide
    Lead the development and revision of HR policies
    Track and report on HR dashboards and compliance data such as ENGAGE, EEO and Quarterly Pulse Survey data
    Investigate and complete investigatory reports for internal administrative investigations
    Perform other related work as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources and personnel administration concepts
    Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g. EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA)
    Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration, specifically with regard to classification and pay, team member evaluation, recruitment, selection, training, and labor relations
    Knowledge of and ability to conduct sensitive and complex employee relations investigations
    Research and evaluate information and make determinations/recommendations
    Investigate and resolve complex problems in the areas of employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and salary administration
    Communicate and articulate information thoroughly with a wide audience, both orally and in writing
    Build and maintain effective working relationships
    Proactively research topics and questions in order to assist team members and stakeholders
    Effectively manage stressful and adverse situations
    Exercise discretion and confidentiality in performance of duties
    Excellent analytical skills
    Working knowledge of office equipment, procedures and applications

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business or public administration, management, or a related area; AND 5-7 years of progressive professional experience in related areas.

    Experience within the human resources field is required. Experience within the State of Missouri human resources preferred
