Responsibilities

- Adhere to and enforce all compliance requirements and hospital policies

- Provide direct patient care according to unit-specific competencies

- Perform therapeutic procedures and assist in diagnostic procedures

- Administer medications including controlled substances

- Respond effectively to emergency patient situations

- Initiate IV therapy and manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation

- Assist with patient/family education and maintain accurate medical records

- Engage in Infection Control and Safety Standards

- Demonstrate excellent customer relation skills

- Participate in committees and performance improvement activities

Qualifications

- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing

- Hold a current Alabama Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

- Awareness of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) requirements for Alabama
