- Paraprofessionals must be considered Highly Qualified by meeting one or more of the criteria listed below: a. Passed WorkKeys Test
- Ability to interface well with students, parents and staff.
- Prior experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times.
- The Paraprofessional supports social, behavioral and academic plans designed by core team members in all settings.
- The Paraprofessional assists with the mechanics of large group operation by performing such functions as calling roll, collecting assignments, correcting tests, etc. as assigned by the Teacher.
- The Paraprofessional supervises small groups of students as the Teacher directs in skill development, testing, assignments, projects, etc.
- Assist in the reinforcement of classroom instruction by overseeing the exercises which apply to that instruction.
- Compile resource materials, as directed, to be used by students.
- Assist individual students, as directed, with make-up work following absence.
- Operate audio-visual equipment as requested by Teacher.
- Notify the Teacher of any unusual situations or potential problems encountered in the course of performing assigned duties.
- Maintain confidentiality when dealing with parents of students; refer all inquiries about student progress, behavior, etc. to the Teacher.
- Keep a professional attitude when working with students; maintain objectivity by distributing time as equally as possible among individuals within a group.
- Maintain professional working relationships with students and staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Teacher, Principal or designee.
