    **Commodity Buyer II/III**

    San Diego, CA / Manufacturing Operations Supply Chain / Full time + Procurement raw materials based on ERP, item history and business acumen

    + Work with Quality Engineering and R & D to ensure appropriate and timely material availability, correct documentation, raw material specifications, NCMRs and Certificates of Analysis

    + Maintain effective supplier relationships, exercising ethical negotiation and communication techniques

    + Host Business Review meetings with strategic suppliers to discuss business outlook, supply chain readiness and constraints, and supplier performance

    + Maintain supplier scorecard via collaboration with cross functional team

    + Negotiate costs of materials, inbound freight, and purchase contract terms and conditions

    + Support R&D and new product development as core team member representing supply chain

    + Analyze data and apply business intelligence to make business proposal and decision

    **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

    + BA / BS degree in a related field Required

    + 3+ years experience in a purchasing environment or related field required Buyer II

    + 5+ years experience in a purchasing environment or related field required Buyer III

    + Desirable certifications: APICS CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM; or NAPM CPM

    **KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**

    + Critical thinking

    + Data analytical and business acumen

    + Basic negotiating methods.

    + Contract writing.

    + General purchase terms and conditions.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Material requirements planning.

    + Commercial research methods.

    + Commodity specific knowledge.

    + Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook,

    + Must conform to good manufacturing practices and ISO requirements.
