The Material Handler I works under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor to carry out the following departmental responsibilities: order fulfillment including picking, packing and land shipping.
This position requires the ability to pull and pack orders in a timely manner; stock all items in correct locations using the inventory management software as well as the barcode system.
This position requires the ability to multi-task as well as follow standard operating procedures at all times.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Order Picking: 25% of position responsibility
Assigns orders to boxes ready to ship using barcode scanner
Picks proper item numbers and quantities per pick list
Order Packing: 25% of position responsibility
Uses barcode scanner to pack orders
Packs product in properly sized boxes
Packs ice products in proper containers
Loads and unloads trucks using forklifts and hand jacks
Order Shipping: 25% of position responsibility
Uses FedEx Ship Manager
Uses UPS World Ship
Prepares Bill of Ladings for less than truckload and truckload shipments
Prepares and ships international shipments with Custom's Invoices and Shippers Export Declarations
Inventory: 20% of position responsibility
Manually stocks inventory
Uses Great Plains Inventory program systems manager
Performs Great Plains inventory inquiries and bin transfers
Investigates inventory and order errors, physically and in Great Plains system
Other duties as assigned: 5% of position responsibility
Education And Experience
High School degree or equivalent.
Six months ' related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Proven ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to solve general math problems encountered in day-to-day operations
Consistently displays attention to detail.
Proficient in oral and written communications, both internally and externally
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations
Beginner ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail
Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 80 pounds repetitively
Push/pull up to 80 lbs.
The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. above head
The ability to work in confined spaces
Stooping, kneeling, crouching; walking; standing for extended periods of time
Sitting for extended periods of time
Perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time
Wear personal safety protection including safety glasses
The ability to climb ladders or steps on a regular basis

The Target Pay Range for this position is $17.00-$25.00 Hourly. At Mars, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
