- Maintains accrual and prepaid accounting ledgers, prepares journal entries and reviews monthly activity in the general ledger
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Revenue Recognition for FP, T&M and Hybrid awards
- Prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations and recommend adjustments
- Research proper accounting treatments for certain transactions as needed
- Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance
- Assemble complete financial documentation for CFO
- Cross-train with major accounting functions to provide departmental support as needed
- Assist with DCAA Incurred Cost Submission preparation
- Participates in developing process improvement recommendations for accounting procedures and practices
- Support internal and external audits and tax preparation efforts
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 7 years financial accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Working Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Hands-on financial statement preparation and analysis experience
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Deltek Costpoint or similar complex ERP experience
- Cost accounting or government contracting experience
- CPA certification
- Customer service driven
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter that requires minimal supervision

SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant - GL reports to the CFO and is responsible for oversight of the general ledger, analyzing financial data, and providing guidance to the accounting department. This role plays a key role in the month-end close process and is responsible for preparing timely, accurate financial statements, project performance reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.It is a senior-level position that requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and is knowledgeable in US GAAP.This position will support general accounting operations through adjusting journal entries, revenue recognition, reconciliations, cross-training for transactional backup support, compliance filings, and is heavily involved in financial audits.
