    Job DescriptionAbout Our College

    Galveston College is a comprehensive community college located on Galveston Island, just 40 miles south of Houston, Texas. Our College provides the citizens of Galveston Island and the surrounding region with academic, workforce development, continuing education, and community service programs. We serve an ethnically diverse population of approximately 2,400 students each semester in credit programs and nearly 5,000 individuals annually in continuing education programs.     Job Highlights

    The Part Time EMS Instructor is responsible for classroom, lab and clinical instruction as determined by the coordinator. Conducts examinations and grading of student work, and assumes other tasks and responsibilities as requested by supervisors.

    Required Qualifications

    • State of Texas certification as ECA, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic;
    • State of Texas EMS Instructor Certification;
    • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification;
    • Three years EMS experience;
    • Strong communication and organizational skills;
    • Must be prepared to work with students with a diverse range of back grounds, abilities and ages;
    • Must be dedicated to excellence in teaching and committed to high academic and professional standards.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate's degree;
    • 5 years EMS field experience;
    • Previous teaching experience;
    • National Registry of EMT certification.
