    Role Summary:

    The Contractor Sales Associate plays a crucial role in increasing sales, market share, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by assisting contractors and retail customers in selecting from a wide range of building material products.

    Our Contractor Sales Associate provides expert product knowledge, guidance in selection, and exceptional customer service.


    Scope of the Position:
    This position is based in Huntsville, AL, at the Wilson Lumber showroom and reports to the Inside Sales Manager.

    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Collaborate with contractors and retail customers to plan and select products.
    Provide prompt and courteous service by handling telephone or in-person orders and addressing customer inquiries.
    Process returned merchandise, including verifying documents and items, processing refunds, credits, and exchanges according to company policies.
    Manage special orders for materials not stocked in inventory.
    Resolve contractor and consumer issues professionally and efficiently.
    Maintain a positive and energetic attitude, demonstrating strong consultative sales and interpersonal skills.
    Work closely with Outside Sales Staff and Showroom Specialist Staff to follow up with customers.
    Cultivate long-term relationships with industry customers such as designers and contractors.
    Interpret blueprints to ensure product compatibility with customer needs.
    Utilize office technologies and computers for order processing, tracking, and effective communication.
    Assist in calculating small take-offs and bids, estimating lumber and material listsEnsure the Showroom maintains a professional environment.
    Support Showroom Specialist Sales Associates as needed.
    Adhere to company policies and procedures.
    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Position Qualifications:
    Fluent in Spanish and EnglishStrong commitment to delivering superior customer service.

    Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailDemonstrated proficiency in effective selling strategies and techniques.

    Track record of success in sales growth or lead generationEffective time management and adaptability to changing priorities.

    Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesTechnical expertise and familiarity with company productsAbility to follow written instructions and documented procedures.

    Skilled in presentation and public speakingExperience reading engineering drawings and blueprints is advantageous.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteConstruction experience is a plus.
    College degree preferred but not required.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit or stand frequently.
    Adaptability to various environments, including production areas.
    You will be expected to follow all job-related instructions and perform other duties as requested by management.
