    Natural Retreats is hiring part-time Seasonal Yellowstone Tour Guides to join our team for the upcoming season Our Luxury Tour Guides provide safe, reliable transportation through Yellowstone National Park in a professional and enjoyable manner. This position requires the individual to multitask operating a full-sized suburban or Transit vehicle while listening to and engaging with our guests. They are responsible for the safety and guidance of our guests, who come from all ages and walks of life, and for organizing an idealistic day in the park for groups of friends and family.

    Tour Guides must be outdoor and adventure enthusiasts, as each tour will be customized to the groups wants and physical abilities. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and multi-generational tour company, giving our private guests their dream Yellowstone National Park experience. A basic knowledge of Yellowstone and its history is a must, but niche expertise in flora and fauna, geysers, photography, and similar are also encouraged to apply.

    COMPENSATION: Flat rate of $250/day + tips.
    Compensation also includes payment for certification classes and paid on the job training.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Timely and consistent availability 2-4 times a week
    • Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
    • Ensure safety of guests in the vehicle and on the trail
    • Report any incidents with the vehicle or passengers to the proper manager and/or authorities
    • Operate company vehicles safely on assigned route, picking up and dropping off authorized guests only
    • Obey all local, state and federal traffic laws
    • Clean and help maintain vehicles before and after each use
    • Inspect vehicle for proper operating condition before and after every shift according to checklist provided
    • Maintain accurate and detailed shuttle logs
    • Communicate with office staff and management on any guest requests
    • Stock vehicles with provided scope, bear spray, cooler daily
    • Hand out lunches and help serve guests during a scenic picnic lunch

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

    REQUIRED:

    • Applicants should currently reside in the Bozeman, MT area
    • Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park (or the dedication to learn)
    • Valid and current state driver's license
    • Clean driving record
    • Be at least 23 years of age
    • Attend paid ServeSafe, First AID, and CPR training, provided at no cost to you by Natural Retreats
    • Must complete Department of Transportation physical exam prior to employment including a drug screen to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate, at no cost to you
    • Friendly and welcoming demeanor
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with basic technology such as cell phones
    • Keen attention to detail
    • A 'can-do' attitude
    • Strong ethical conduct

    PREFFERED:

    • Previous tour experience


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to operate a car or van
    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk and lift up to 50lbs throughout the day
    • Endure exposure to extreme weather conditions including: hot and cold weather, icy road conditions, and high wind speeds
    • Constantly listen and provide answers to the best of your knowledge
    • Ability to perform and demonstrate emergency evacuation procedures or First Aid after training
    • Hike for at least 3 miles, as you will aide guests during their "off the beaten path" experiences

    POSITION TYPE/ HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a part-time, seasonal position. Tour Guides will typically work 2-4 days per week, each day on average is 12-13 hours long. Successful candidates also have possibility to be asked back for winter operations.
