    Description

    Description

    • Works with the physical therapist to provide rehabilitative treatment for patients referred for physical therapy.
    • Administers manual therapeutic exercises professionally and ethically.
    • Provides supervision for assigned patients during appointments.
    • Assists in orienting new physical therapist assistants and directs therapy aides.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the meditech system.
    • Shows interest in the department and focuses on self-improvement.
    • Maintains current CPR certification.
    • Offers basic and emergency first aid following injury protocols.
    • Maintains a positive attitude in interactions with patients and coworkers.
    • Follows schedule and maintains a clean work area.
    • Keeps equipment and supplies in order.
    • Actively listens to others.
    • Reports to: Director of Physical Therapy

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate's degree required.
    • Required Skills
    • Needs critical thinking and judgment skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and handle stress.
    • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
    • Required Licenses
    • [West Virginia, United States] Other
    • Must have a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in WV.
    • Minimum Work Experience
    • Prefer experience in outpatient and acute care settings as a physical therapy assistant, with current CPR certification.
