Job description
RCT is seeking a senior-level Technology Advisor to lead the technical baseline for a Laptop portfolio team. This role focuses on deep expertise in Windows, Linux, and related desktop platforms, ensuring products are secure, technically sound, and aligned with future innovation. The position bridges technical leadership and stakeholder communication, guiding product development from concept through deployment. A self-driven senior engineer who combines deep cross-platform technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding secure product development in a high-clearance environment.Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide technical input on product plans and lifecycle reviews
- Represent the portfolio at technical boards and with external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and baseline artifacts
- Identify vulnerabilities, technical risks, and product issues early
- Support R&D, testing preparation, and innovation-to-productization efforts
- Collaborate with Technical Leads, Project Management, and development teams
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear messaging for leadership
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and platform support as needed
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu)
- 10+ years of experience in technical roles
- Strong experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS desktop environments
- Hands-on development experience across platforms
- Understanding of OS architecture and low-level code
- Experience with Agile processes and project control gates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (including Visio, VBA, WSL)
- Master's degree in a related technical field
- Intelligence Community experience
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with operating systems architecture and commercial messaging products
