- Weekly field visits to inspect and collect data from dewatering infrastructure and maintain a database of collected hydrological data.
- Weekly dewatering and surface water management meetings with key site stakeholders.
- Produce, execute, and plan dewatering projects in coordination with Mine Planning to fit optimally into the development of the mine.
- Design, plan, and lead the construction of new dewatering infrastructure.
- Coordinate and collaborate with contractors and skilled trades.
- Plan and maintain groundwater monitoring systems to support dewatering and slope depressurization.
- Prepare memos, maps, and reports interpreting findings of data collection and evaluation, model updates and provide guidance and recommendations.
- Guide and assist and hydrogeological work performed by third party consultants.
- Prepare budget estimates on an annual basis for: drilling, acquisition, installation, and operation of dewatering wells, horizontal drains, and piezometers.
- Assist and the development and maintenance of water modelling.
- Knowledge of surface and groundwater water management for mining.
- Excellent computer skills and generally familiarity industry standard water modelling, GIS, and mine planning software suites.
- Knowledge of well design, pump selection, and other construction methods and processes relevant to hydrogeology infrastructure.
- General knowldge of environmental regulations.
- Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities that accomplish key objectives.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and adjust to sudden change.
- Takes prime responsibility and ownership for site dewatering activities.
- B.S. (advanced preferred) in Hydrogeology, Geology, Hydrology, or similar with significant coursework in hydrology.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Mine Hydrogeologist primary responsibility is assessing, recommending, and implementing mine dewatering activities, and maintaining infrastructure by working closely with contractors and skilled trades.
Strong field and interpersonal skills are required for success.Recording, analyzing, and archiving data for water levels, balances, and flow throughout site to support all customers:
mine planning, slope stability, processing, operations, and support. Must be comfortable spending greater than 50% of time in field under all weather conditions.
