- Posts jobs to internal and external websites as necessary. Maintains job postings.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, making recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings.
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Provide an efficient and high-touch experience for every candidate from application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview and offer process, including reference checks, salary recommendations and closing of candidates.
- Evaluate and implement recruiting tools, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), sourcing tools, referral programs, and agency vendor management
- Partner with department leaders to create an attractive environment for candidates
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the recruiting process and employee experience
- Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
- Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, noncompete agreements).
- Coordinates and maintains all new hire paperwork and performs data entry of all new hires into payroll system
- Submits background checks, MVR, and drug screen requests for all potential new hires
- Ensures applicants have completed all pre-employment testing prior to clearing for hire
- Prepares new employee files and files documents as required
- Assists Human Resource management team with various special projects or duties as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- 5+ years in the electrical trade is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree; or 2 years of previous HR experience working in Talent Acquisition or related discipline
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Experience hiring in the construction or any contracting field preferred
- Problem solving-resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Interpersonal Skills-maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things
- Oral communication-speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings
- Written Communication-edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information
- Planning/organizing-prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans
- Quality control-demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality
- Adaptability-adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
