A health company is seeking an experienced AI leader to oversee a team of six data engineers and data scientists. The candidate will be responsible for managing the team and expanding it further while transitioning into a more strategic role. The ideal candidate should have significant expertise in natural language processing (NLP), handling secure health data, and experience with Elastic Search for document storage. The team's focus is on processing real-time streaming data from hospitals, developing AI pipelines, and creating search APIs. The candidate should be a thought leader passionate about advancing AI and innovation. Prior experience in leading teams, working with stakeholders, and setting strategic directions in a machine learning environment is required. The position is fully remote, but candidates local to Southern California are preferred for occasional in-person meetups and team bonding activities.

• 10+ years professional Machine Learning experience
• Experience working in the Health/Healthcare space or experience working with sensitive data
• Natural Language Processing
• Elastic Search
• Experience leading teams consisting of both Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers
• Interest in moving into a strategic leadership role
