    The College of Liberal Arts at Black Hills State University seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of American Indian Studies to be housed in the School of Mathematics and Social Sciences.

    DUTIES:
    Duties include the expectation to teach a load of 12 credits per semester. Other responsibilities include advising, scholarship, and service.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •Ability and willingness to develop and teach a broad range of American Indian Studies courses in face-to-face and online formats is essential.

    •A terminal degree in American Indian/Native American Studies, American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Anthropology or related field is preferred.

    •Preference will be given to candidates who show evidence of successful teaching experience in the area of American Indian/Native American Studies, in particular the Plains Indian populations.

    •We particularly welcome applicants whose work encompasses American Indian and Indigenous centered knowledge production and epistemologies.

    COMMENTS:
    This is a full time, nine-month, tenure track position that will start August 2024. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
