The Director of Risk Management is responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategy and guidelines for new credit products.
This person will create underwriting decisioning models, develop analytics packages, and manage fraud detection tools to monitor and maintain product integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Risk Models and Guidelines:
Create, implement and maintain the overall risk management strategy and guidelines for new credit products
Underwriting Decisioning Model:
Work with the internal Analytics team and external partners (as needed) to develop and refine
Fraud Management:
Use internal and external tools to help monitor and maintain
Complaint And Dispute Management:
Track and oversee best in industry practices
Analytics:
Drive product performance through development of analytics packages
Collaboration:
Work with senior management, other company employees, and 3rd parties to ensure smooth product release and ongoing process
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Strong understanding of unsecured credit products, additional product experience (secured products, installment loans, BNPL, etc.) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
Strong presentation and communication skills
Subprime experience is a strong plus
People management experience is a plus
Experience with Snowflake is a plus
Education and/or Experience:
Masters degree in business, math, economics, or a related field. PhD is a plus
5-7 years of risk management and model building experience
Physical Demands:
Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Occasionally may require light lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Office environment.
Occasional travel may be required.
