    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Currently enrolled as an accounting/finance/business major at an accredited university.
    • Team oriented.

    SPECIAL KNOWEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Proficiency with a personal computer using Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the District.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to be objective and professional at all times.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:

    • Assist the Internal Audit Staff in conducting audits in a professional manner and according to professional auditing standards.
    • Review the internal controls of the District as directed and supervised by the Internal Audit staff.
    • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidential data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls being tested and the efficiency and reliability of the activities being reviewed.
    • Prepare detailed work papers to document the steps performed and to support all conclusions.
    • Inform the Chief Internal Auditor of any issues that arise in the course of the audit.
    • Prepare a draft report that summarizes all audit findings and recommendations for improvement.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
