    The Village of Northbrook, Illinois (population 35,222), is a thriving, progressive community strategically located approximately 25 miles north of downtown Chicago.

    The Village of Northbrook's Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Management Analyst.

    Under the direction of the Director, Deputy Director, and Assistant Director this full-time position will be a key member of the management team assisting with a number of functional areas.

    This position is ideal for the individual having a strong interest in municipal operations, the drive and desire to learn as well as gain well-rounded and comprehensive experience in the field of municipal management leading to opportunities for future advancement in local government.


    Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Reviews and assists in resolving resident requests while providing excellent customer service
    Assisting with the preparation of budgets and capital improvement plans
    Preparing quarterly financial reports on behalf of the Department
    Coordinates the Department purchasing, preparing bids, RFPs, and RFQs
    Applies for and tracks grants on behalf of the department
    Reviews and assists in the creation of operational programs
    Assists with and participates in Village special events as needed
    Prepares reports, memos, and Resolutions or Ordinances for consideration by the Village Board
    Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the Public Works Department, as this list is not intended to be all-encompassing

    Qualifications:


    A bachelor's degree in political science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or Accounting is required with a master's degree in similar fields is preferred.

    Position requires a minimum of 1-year municipal experience.

    The ideal candidate for this position will be self-directed and able to manage projects and deadlines, exercises good judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters, and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.

    The approved pay range for this position is $60,000-$93,500 with a target hiring starting salary between $73,000-$79,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

    The Village also offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes pension (IMRF), health & dental Insurance, life insurance and generous leave benefits.

    The work schedule is primarily Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
