Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services at a facility in Milford, Delaware. The ideal candidate will coordinate psychiatric care in the facility, and collaborate with facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to help develop and implement resident care policies that reflect current standards of practice.

Requirements:

• Delaware license or eligibility for a Delaware license
• BC in internal medicine, geriatrics, or family practice
• BLS/ACLS Certification
• DEA Certificate
• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• Experience in a long-term care facility or similar setting.
• Meet federal and state eligibility requirements to participate in VA, Medicaid, and Medicare

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate psychiatric care in the facility and provide clinical guidance and oversight regarding the implementation of resident care policies.
• Collaborate with facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to help develop and implement resident care policies that reflect current standards of practice.
• Provide necessary psychiatric treatment to clients including an initial assessment to determine the diagnosis and need for treatment.
• Coordinate and facilitate the use of ancillary services such as the laboratory.
• Develop mechanisms for communicating and resolving issues related to psychiatric care.
• Help the facility ensure residents have primary attending and backup psychiatric coverage.
• Review of the resident's overall condition and program of care at each visit, including medications and treatments.
• Provide leadership during a mental health emergency and technical support to staff when needed.
• Coordinate and evaluate the medical care within the facility by reviewing and evaluating aspects of physician care and practitioner services.
• Ensure that other licensed practitioners who may perform psychiatric-delegated tasks act within the regulatory requirements and within the scope of practices as defined by Delaware State law.
