    Job Summary:

    The Cold Mill Process Engineer serves a critical role in supporting manufacturing to ensure processes are in control and continually improved with respect to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. These processes include cold rolling and annealing. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership, self-initiative, good communication, and teamwork. The Process Engineer stays abreast of modern technologies and applies them as appropriate to improve area performance. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    · Ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the Golden Aluminum Quality Management System (QMS) to achieve departmental and GAI Quality Objectives. Must work with utmost integrity in support of company values, policies and procedures.

    · Support the Cold Rolling and Annealing processes including specific duties in:

    o Oversight and improvement of product quality, safety, productivity, and cost.

    o Maintenance of Process FMEAs and effective application of Control Plans.

    o Control of the cold rolled gauge, flatness, leveling, surface quality and yield.

    o Work with external providers to improve processes.

    o Control of the Cold Mill coolant quality.

    o Control of annealing temperature uniformity, furnace atmospheres, cycle efficiency, furnace surveys, and cost.

    o Ensuring correct coil traceability through all area operations.

    o Leading and driving effective Corrective and Preventive Action.

    o Periodic written and verbal reporting.

    o Creation and maintenance of Work Procedures and Instructions.

    o Daily communication of issues and opportunities to upstream and downstream operations.

    o Daily communication and follow up with Maintenance and Engineering on equipment issues and opportunities.

    o Internal procedural and process audits as assigned.

    o Participation in External Audits as assigned.

    o Customer interaction as assigned.

    o Training of area personnel in procedures and standards.

    o Other reports, projects or tasks as assigned.
