    Overview


    A unique opportunity to work with the pediatric population in a non-hospital setting Alongside our psychiatry and clinical team you will provide direct care to our youth focused on self-advocacy, respect, and personal growth during their short term residential placement.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors the physical condition of clients and maintains all medical records as required.
    • Maintains information for staff regarding any changes in the health or medical status, as well as the medications for every client.
    • Serves as a member of the treatment team whenever appropriate or requested by the programs administration to provide information relative to the health, medical or medications for the clients.
    • Provides all medically related case management functions in working with the family, social services agencies, collaterals, and/or sending school districts.
    • Arranges medical and dental appointments for all clients as necessary and in a timely manner.
    • Works with program staff to coordinate appointments and provide for transportation.
    • Provides health related workshops and seminars for students covering topics of daily and personal hygiene.
    • Oversees the ordering and inventorying of all first aid and medical supplies for the program.
    • Provide comprehensive oversight and management of the medication program.
    • Monitor the physical condition of clients involved in physical restraints or demonstrating emotional responses that may affect their health and well-being.
    • Ensure that medications are packaged and prepared for off-campus activities
    • Oversee record-keeping functions as related to health records, medical findings, and regulatory requirements.
    • Work with referring agents to ensure that medical data is current, available, and accurate, including immunizations and other health-related requirements for school attendance and/or residential living.
    • Consult with the Medical Director, Psychiatrist, clinical staff, and the program administration regarding the emotional, behavioral, and treatment needs of clients, including health issues, medication-related needs, side-effects, and behavioral changes, positive or negative, as necessary and appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • AS or BS in nursing required.
    • LPN License required.
    • Prior Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse required.
    • Experience with children, adolescents, and families preferred.
    • Candidates must possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. This position is responsible for transporting our youth for recreation and safety purposes.
