Job DescriptionWork From Home Tax Accountant - 2 Years minimum prior tax experience and tax knowledge. Able to complete various types of tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120-S, 990) independently with CPA or tax preparation firm.
Brad Smuckler CPA & Associates is a fast-growing Accounting firm specializing in income taxes, planning, bookkeeping and accounting for UFC MMA FIGHTERS, other professional athletes, musicians and entertainers. Our firm is seeking a motivated individual that would work independently from home 20 to 40 hours per week. We are a virtual accounting firm and our clients are located all around the world. This is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A PARENT WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WHO NEEDS FLEXIBILE HOURS and can work on your own schedule (days, evenings and, or weekends).

Must have the following Experience/Background/Skills:
· Maintain a current IRS PTIN number
· Minimum of 2 years' relevant tax experience required in public accounting and experience with moderately complex tax returns.
· Proven experience in tax research and planning and knowledge of current income tax laws and regulations.
· Good working knowledge of tax and accounting software and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Good computer skills are a must and experience with Drake tax software is a plus.
· Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely manner.
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic and high integrity.
· Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and good analytical skills.
· Stay current on trends, issues, laws, and practices in the tax field and participate in staff development initiatives and firm sponsored training.
· Strict adherence to professional ethics.
· Must have a newer computer, dual monitors, printer, cell phone and internet access with proper office space to work from.
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills:
· B.A. or B.S. degree with a major in accounting or related field.
· Either hold a current and valid CPA or EA license or working toward obtaining one.
· Knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.
· G/L, bookkeeping and Quickbooks experience are a plus.
· Ability to research, reply and resolve government correspondences and assessments.
· Assist with tax planning and projections, while interacting with team members, and client personnel, as required.
· Ability to register new and existing businesses with state or local jurisdictions for income tax, sales tax and payroll tax purposes is a plus.
