Overview
The Research Assistant (RA) at the Center for Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction (CCPR) will assist in the collection, management, and use of data obtained to drive evidence based practice.
Working within EPIC, Red Cap, and other data sites, the RA will input, mine data, and be responsible for the integrity and security of all databases utilized.
The RA will support all clinical trials within the center. Support provided by the RA will not be limited to data collection and management. The RA will be included in the preparation, presentation and publication of research findings. The RA will support every aspect of research and best clinical outcomes driven by research at the CCRP.Schedule

Responsibilities
The Research Assistant implements and supports the philosophy, mission, values, standards, policies and procedures of Children's Hospital and the CCPR.
establishment of therapeutic relationship with patient/family
screening and identification of patients for data collection
contacting patients and families as identified
recruiting and enrolling study participants
conducting patient interviews and preparing assessments
providing education to families related to research studies and participants role in the study
serving as a patient/family advocate in meeting patient or family needs
Evaluate consistency of medical data
Assist in developing research protocol
Assist in coordinating clinical trials
Perform study scheduling
Track patient participation
Tabulate research data
Develop and maintain research databases
Record results of studies, experiments or questionnaires
Assist in developing research surveys, questionnaires or tests
Assist in preparation of research manuscripts and presentations
Assist in assessment of database integrity
Ensure data is handled congruent with NCH and HIPAA guidelines and policies
Assist in fulfilling IRB needs
Assist in coordination with interdepartmental studies
Supervise undergraduate students working on research project
Maintaining records on assignment completion
Acting as liaison between undergraduate student and Clinical Nurse Researcher and Faculty
Attend project meetings, summarizing goals of meetings for research team
Prepare progress reports for the Clinical Nurse Researcher
Request and/or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project
Manage and respond to project email
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, required.
Coursework in relevant research methods, preferred.
Previous research experience, preferred.
